Intermediate/Senior Accountant Wanted

Because business is a rollercoaster and our clients need a co-pilot!

Are you an Excel-lent number cruncher and Ledger-ndary business advisor?

We’re looking for an Intermediate/Senior Accountant to join our Kerikeri Office—not just to crunch numbers, but to be the steady hand that helps our clients navigate both the highs and the lows of business.

Sure, we do financial statements, tax returns, and GST, but we also build relationships. We’re here to celebrate the wins, strategise for growth, and provide calm, practical support when things don’t go to plan. Our clients need someone who gets it—and that’s where you come in.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

·     Preparing financials, tax returns, and GST (because, yes, the numbers do matter).

·     Helping clients understand their finances so they can actually use the information (not just file it away).

·     Managing your own workflow, deadlines, budgets, and filings—because great service starts with great follow-through.

·     Supporting clients through the good, the bad, and the “IRD just sent me a letter” moments.

·     Being part of a friendly, approachable team that works hard but doesn’t take itself too seriously.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

·       2-3 years of experience in public practice—long enough to know your way around but still keen to grow.

·       Someone who enjoys working with people as much as they enjoy getting the numbers right

·       A steady, reliable presence—clients need to know they can count on you.

·       The ability to translate accounting jargon into plain English (or even better, a good analogy).

·       A great sense of humour—because some days, you just have to laugh.

WHAT’S IN IT FOR YOU?

·      A supportive, down-to-earth team that actually enjoys what they do.

·      Work that’s meaningful—helping businesses succeed, one conversation at a time.

·      Flexibility—because life isn’t all about work.  While we value flexibility, we are not looking for a fully remote worker. Our values, team culture and client relationships thrive on in-person collaboration and connection.

·      Great remuneration package including competitive pay, study, health, performance bonuses and endless milestone celebrations throughout the year.

·      A workplace where your ideas matter, and you won’t get lost in corporate red tape.

·      The chance to make a real difference

If you want to work somewhere where clients come first, team matters, and accounting is more than just numbers, we’d love to hear from you.
